Dried Jackfruit: What Is It?

Our dried jackfruit is made by drying young, unripe jackfruit and processing it into various forms, such as shredded pieces. The drying process significantly extends the shelf life and makes the product suitable for storage and transport without the need for refrigeration.

Once soaked or cooked in water or broth, the jackfruit regains a tender, fibrous texture.

Origin

Our jackfruit which is used for the production of the dried variants typically comes from organic cultivation in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka provides the ideal tropical climate for jackfruit trees to thrive.

SUSTAINABILITY BENEFITS OF OUR DRIED YOUNG JACKFRUIT

Sustainable transportation – When jackfruit is dried it eliminates excess water, resulting in a more compact product and thereby contributing to a more efficient use of space during transportation.

Reduced water and land usage – Dried young jackfruit uses 72-90% less water than traditional meat options. Moreover, with the overall biological properties of jackfruit, our program allows us to grow food for humans instead of animals, enabling farmers to feed more than twice as many people.

Encouraging farmer entrepeneurs – We have created a jackfruit plantation program to discourage deforestation. Planting more trees in order for the future generations to thrive. 

No water pollution – Untreated manure and excess fertiliser in important water springs are a major source of ecological damage and human illness. Our jackfruit trees do not require any excess fertiliser or manure to grow or cultivate.

No added antibiotics – Traditional meat causes several health risks as it contains antibiotics. Jackfruit requires no added antibiotics making it safer to consume.

New manufacturing facility – We built a new state of the art manufacturing facility that produces less greenhouse gasses, optimises electricity usage and recycles water.

Description: White shredded young jackfruit, cut into 8 mm.
Application: Perfectly suited as raw material for hybrid minced meat, hybred or vegan mince-like products, such as meatballs and saucages and hybrid or vegan chicken nuggets.

Application: Perfect as a base for croquettes and bitterballen, either hybrid or vegan or as a base for pulled beef fillings, either hybrid or vegan.
